Success at Tasmanian Masters

A huge congratulations to our MAG gymnast Nathaniel Young who competed in the 2022 Tasmanian Masters Games on the 22/23rd October at the Devonport gymnastics club. Nathaniel placed 1st overall in the competition and had outstanding results on each apparatus. He placed 1st on vault, pommel and floor, 2nd on P-Bars, and 3rd on high bar and rings.

The Masters Games allow experienced athletes to compete again in gymnastics, as long as they have been out of competitive sport for over 2 years. They offer Men’s and Women’s gymnastics, as well as Rhythmic and Trampoline gymnastics. There are three age divisions for each sport, 18-25, 26-34 and 35+.

Nathaniel has been training with us for the last few years with the goal to compete in these games. After his exceptional efforts he is now looking forward to heading to Adelaide next year for the Australian Masters Games. His excitement and success has also inspired several members of our coaching team to take up gymnastics again and work towards the Tasmanian Masters Games in 2024 – so watch this space!!
