WAG Competition Season Wraps

The 2023 WAG Junior competition season culminated with the Junior State Championships event at the Gymnastics Tasmania State Training Centre on the 9 and 10 September and the Academy was proud to be represented by twenty-four Women’s Artistic gymnasts ranging in age from 7 to 16 years.

All our gymnasts competed well, with many of them showing improvement or even achieving personal bests. And, by the end of the weekend, our gymnasts had shown sportsmanship, resilience and confidence through both success and disappointment – and we are incredibly proud of them all!

Special mention must be made of those athletes placing on apparatus and those finishing on the podium within their level and also their age-group.

  • Millie for placing 2nd on Floor and 4th overall
  • Sasha for placing 2nd on Vault, 2nd on Floor and 2nd overall

State Championships is always a massive weekend and we would also like to thank our coaches and judges who put in long days assisting and encouraging athletes or assessing their skills. Without this dedication, our athletes wouldn’t be able to participate in competitions – please take an opportunity to acknowledge this when you get a chance!
